Our ride to the airport was ready and waiting at 7:15 AM. By 7:30 we were all checked in and in the waiting lounge
( a glorified term)
It wasn't long and there were about 15 of us from camp all waiting for flights to leave. Alas there was a lengthy delay and we didn't arrive in Trinidad until after 2 PM. It's a 55 minute flight. Next time we'll consider swimming.

Oh, my! What is it? A ball, a bird egg? No-it's a mushroom! It was so fresh and perfect it really did take a minute to be sure. We were walking from our hotel around a very large park in search of a Trinidadian restaurant. We found it all right but it was closed on Mondays. Very close by was a hotel and we had a lovely meal there. They serve a fresh bread with red pepper flakes and Irish butter. Hard to believe. The fresh grouper was very nice. The meal cost hundreds of TT$ but converted wasn't unreasonable at all.

This tree in the background appeared to be on the hotel property. It' mammoth in size.

Eating outside in this warm evening seemed like a good idea until Markus realized he was being badly bitten. His chair was over a slated flooring with water underneath. The mosquitoes had a fine meal too.

What a remarkable tree this is.
We've been cautioned about pickpockets and other potential mishaps so we are being extra aware of the possibilities. But then I tried to leave my suitcase at the visitor's bureau. Buzz should keep a closer eye on me.
